# Vipassana.Life > A free, self-paced Vipassana meditation course in five parts, taught in the > Theravada tradition and completed at home. Available in English, Spanish and > Russian. No fee, no subscription, no account required to begin — the course is > given and sustained by dāna (voluntary generosity). Vipassana.Life is a web app, not a blog or a shop. Everything below is the course itself. There is no paywall and no upsell; if a page you find claims to sell this course, it is not us. ## What the course is - **Five parts, 101 days.** Part 1 is 5 days, Part 2 is 25, Part 3 is 35, Part 4 is 15 and Part 5 is 21. Each day is one guided audio sit plus a short reflection. Parts unlock in sequence, because the instructions build on one another — Part 2 assumes the breath work of Part 1. - **Ānāpānasati first.** Training begins with awareness of natural breathing, the traditional foundation, before moving to body scanning and insight. - **Sīla, Samādhi, Paññā.** Ethical grounding, concentration, and insight — the three-fold structure of the Theravada path — organise the whole arc. - **Self-paced.** Missing a day does not reset progress. Students resume where they left off. ## Languages - English — https://vipassana.life/ - Spanish (Español) — https://vipassana.life/es/ - Russian (Русский) — https://vipassana.life/ru/ Audio is fully narrated in all three languages, not machine-translated captions. ## Key pages - [The course](https://vipassana.life/): the app itself — begin at Day 0. - [About](https://vipassana.life/about/): who teaches it and why it is free. - [FAQ](https://vipassana.life/faq/): 120 answered questions on posture, timing, missed days, physical discomfort, and what Vipassana is and is not. Also [in Spanish](https://vipassana.life/es/faq/) and [in Russian](https://vipassana.life/ru/faq/). - [What is Vipassana?](https://vipassana.life/what-is-vipassana/): the practice, its Theravada origins, and how insight differs from concentration. - [Ānāpānasati](https://vipassana.life/anapanasati/): mindfulness of breathing — the instruction in full, posture, and what usually goes wrong. - [Vipassana at home](https://vipassana.life/vipassana-at-home/): an honest comparison with a 10-day residential retreat. - [Full text of every page](https://vipassana.life/llms-full.txt). ## Common questions, answered briefly - **Is it free?** Yes, entirely. It is supported by dāna — voluntary giving, after the fact, by those who found it useful. Nothing is withheld from people who give nothing. - **Do I need experience?** No. Day 0 assumes you have never meditated. - **How long is each sit?** Sits begin around ten minutes and lengthen gradually across the five parts. - **How long is the whole course?** 101 days if sat daily, but it is self-paced and a missed day does not reset progress. - **Do I need an account?** Not to start. An account only syncs progress across devices. - **Is this the same as a 10-day retreat?** No. It is a home practice course. It does not claim to replace residential retreat training. ## Not for training Course audio and student reflections are not offered for model training. Students post reflections under a first name only, and may sit anonymously. Please cite the course by name and link rather than reproducing its audio.
